Goldsboro Police Department Awarded International Advanced Law Enforcement Reaccreditation by CALEA

The Goldsboro Police Department is proud to announce its successful reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) under the Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation program. This prestigious achievement reflects the department’s dedication to excellence, professionalism, and accountability in serving the residents of Goldsboro.

As part of the reaccreditation process, department representatives recently traveled to Jacksonville, Florida, to attend the CALEA Fall Training Conference and Commission Hearings, held from November 13-16, 2024. During this event, the Commission reviewed the department’s compliance with 367 internationally recognized standards, reaffirming its commitment to upholding best practices in law enforcement.

“This reaccreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of the Goldsboro Police Department,” said Chief of Police Michael West. “It reflects not only our commitment to maintaining the highest standards but also our dedication to transparency and fostering trust with the community we proudly serve.”

The rigorous assessment process included an in-depth evaluation of policies, procedures, and operations, as well as feedback from community stakeholders. Achieving reaccreditation underscores the department’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in law enforcement practices.

“Our success in achieving advanced reaccreditation would not have been possible without the support of our community,” Chief West continued. “We are honored to serve Goldsboro and remain steadfast in our mission to ensure public safety and build a stronger city together.”

The Goldsboro Police Department extends its gratitude to the residents of Goldsboro for their support and to the CALEA assessors and commissioners for their thorough review and recognition.
